This project will provide basic school supplies to reduce the rate of out-of-school children in Nigeria and also educate young people about cryptocurrency. 18.5 children are out of school in Nigeria and 10.5 million children are girls. Supporting this initiative will help close the gap by helping more underprivileged children to stay in school. Cryptocurrency education for young people help to redefine how young people engage with and understand the dynamic world of cryptocurrencies and how it can help to fund public goods. There will be relief on the burden of parents, who are unemployed to provide these basic essentials for underprivileged children.

This project aims to educate youth about cryptocurrency and how it can be used for public goods. Educating young people on overview of the history of the first cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin, Arbitrum network, Giv token, Ethereum and how it came to be the most valued digital asset. Educating young people, the concept of buying and selling it, as well as the risks and rewards of investing in cryptocurrency and stay away from financial fraud. Supporting this initiative will help to increase youths understanding about cryptocurrencies.

Due to fraudulent activities being committed by some of the crypto user, government and parents discouraged their youth and citizens from using cryptocurrency. Proper education on the use of crypto, and how it can be used for public good, will encourage those who is against cryptocurrency to have a rethink of their action against it.  

At Helpers Social Development Foundation, we believed that lasting change happened when children have access to their social needs. We are accepting cryptocurrencies because we believed that crypto will help us to restore and build abandoned public institutions.

What Helpers Foundation have achieved with cryptocurrency donations

With the help of our crypto donors, we established Helpers Foundation Nursery and primary school in the year 2021 in Oji-River area of Enugu State with the aim to offer free education and mentoring to underprivileged children in Oji-River.

What we have achieved through donations received.

1. We Built toilet facilities in public schools using open defecation. We constructed the toilet facility with the aim to end open defecation in those schools in order to prevent children and teachers from contracting diseases while learning.
2. Distribution of free school supplies in public schools to prevent underprivileged children from missing or dropping out of school.
3. we established Helpers Foundation Nursery and primary school in the year 2021 in the Oji-River area of Enugu State with the aim to offer free education and mentoring to underprivileged children in Oji-River.

Challenges affecting children in Nigeria

This is truly a trying time for underprivileged Nigerians as many people have lost their jobs due to Covid-pandemic and economic hardship. 18.5 million children dropped out of school, and 10.5 million are girls, they struggle daily for not having the tools needed to help them in school. Poverty regardless of level is linked to reduced academic achievement. Students who live in poverty come to school every day without the proper tools for success, as a result, they are commonly behind their classmates physically, socially, and emotionally. The Solution

How can we use crypto to narrow the performance gap in children’s education? Better funding for out-of-school children’s education will help to reach out to those government left behind. Donating for children’s basic needs, like education, school food programs, classroom building, classroom funding, mentoring programs for children, healthcare support at school, and supplies. 

 This initiative will educate young people on the important of cryptocurrency and how it can be used to sponsor their education and fund other public goods. Accelerating youth knowledge of technology and financial literacy while building leaders, innovators, and creators for a decentralized future.

At the end of the event, all the participants will be invited on a day event to guide them to set up crypto wallet address. Funds will in Arbitrum network, Ethereum etc will be sent to the wallet address of all the participant to sponsor their initiatives. Crypto education for young people will assist them in coming up with new ideas on how to effectively use cryptocurrency for public good.
